Breaking News – New CEO for The Campagna Center

The Campagna Center Hires Dr. Tammy L. Mann as Chief Executive Officer
The Campagna Center, a non-profit organization that draws together the resources of the Alexandria community to strengthen families and provide programs that help children become caring, productive adults, is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Tammy L. Mann as President and Chief Executive Officer. Her tenure with The Campagna Center will begin July 11, 2011.
Dr. Mann has played an active role in the area of early childhood development throughout her career. She has extensive experience translating research to practice for the benefit of children and their families. Since October of 2009, Dr. Mann has been the Executive Director of the Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute at UNCF, where she has focused on improving educational opportunities and outcomes for minority students from preschool through college. She also has worked as an adjunct faculty member at Howard University and has been a public policy fellow at the American Psychological Association. Prior to her work at UNCF she served as Deputy Executive Director at ZERO TO THREE, a national nonprofit organization focused on promoting the importance of the early years.
The Campagna Center Board Chairperson, Joan Holtz stated, “The Campagna Center is extremely fortunate to have Dr. Mann join the organization. She will be a tremendous addition to the management team, and she has the experience needed to carry out The Campagna Center’s mission to serve the children and families of Alexandria.” Mann noted, “I am honored to have been selected to serve as The Campagna Center’s next President and CEO and build on its tremendous track record of success. I look forward to partnering with parents and other community stakeholders as we deliver exceptional programs to help children succeed at school, home and in their community.”
